YES LORD JESUS, YOU SHALL BE MY GUEST TONIGHT.

THE LORD WILL STAY IN MY HOUSE TONIGHT.

"Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab: “As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, during these years there shall be no dew or rain except at my word.”

"The Lord then said to Elijah: “Leave here, go east and hide in the Wadi Cherith, east of the Jordan. You shall drink of the stream, and I have commanded ravens to feed you there.”

"So he left and did as the Lord had commanded. He went and remained by the Wadi Cherith, east of the Jordan. Ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the stream." (1 Kings 17: 1 - 6).

Monday 10th June 2024 in the 10th Week in Ordinary Time.

The first Reading for today from 1 Kings 17: 1 - 6, the Responsorial Psalm and the Collect (Opening Prayer) all together is exactly the message I need to hear today.

At the Mass of the Anniversary of the Dedication of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this Gospel was read:

“Jesus looked up, seeing Zacchaeus on the tree said to him: “Hurry down, Zacchaeus, because I must stay in your house today.”

“The people grumbled because Jesus was going to  stay with a public sinner. "Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” (Cf Luke 19: 8 NLT).

When I heard this Gospel proclaimed at Mass, I said:

"Yes Jesus. You will be my Guest tonight."

Here is the beautiful Collect: (Opening Prayer)

"O God, from whom all good things come, grant that we, who call on you in our need, may at your prompting discern what is right, and by your guidance do it.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever."

Here is the Responsorial from Psalm 121.

R/ Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

"I lift up my eyes toward the mountains; whence shall help come to me?

My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. R/

"May he not suffer your foot to slip; may he slumber not who guards you:

Indeed he neither slumbers nor sleeps, the guardian of Israel. R/

"The Lord is your guardian; the Lord is your shade; he is beside you at your right hand.

The sun shall not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. R/

"The Lord will guard you from all evil; he will guard your life.

The Lord will guard your coming and your going, both now and forever. R/

Great promises from our loving and merciful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will come back to it again and again during the week to savor it. Thank You Jesus.
