"Stay awake!
For you do not know when the Son of Man will come."
(Matthew 24: 42, 44).
We are in the last week of the Church Year. One week to go. Does it occur to you that these may be the last days on earth for some people? The message of the Holy Spirit to the Churches these days are urgent and simple: "Stay awake! For you do not know when the Son of Man will come." (Matthew 24: 42, 44).
How much do you long to see the face of the Lord? (Cf Psalm 24: 6).
But "Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD? Or who may stand in his holy place?
He whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean, who desires not what is vain." (Psalm 24: 3-4).
Sacred Scripture continues in Revelation 14 to refine the profiles of men and women who desire to see the face of the Lord and pray with constancy and sincerity: "Thy Kingdom come!"
"These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been ransomed as the first fruits of the human race for God and the Lamb. On their lips no deceit has been found; they are unblemished." (Revelation 14: 4 - 5).
As we wait with eager hearts for the coming of the Lord, we are comforted by this unshakable truth of Sacred Scripture:
"Behold, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age, says the Lord." (Matthew 28: 20).
