LET US THANK THE LORD FOR HIS BLESSINGS.

GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD.

"Jesus said to his disciples:

“When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, know that its desolation is at hand.

Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. Let those within the city escape from it, and let those in the countryside not enter the city, for these days are the time of punishment when all the Scriptures are fulfilled.

Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days, for a terrible calamity will come upon the earth and a wrathful judgment upon this people.

They will fall by the edge of the sword and be taken as captives to all the Gentiles;

and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars,

and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.

People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.” (Luke 21:  20 - 28).

Thursday November 27th in the 34th Week in Ordinary Time.

Today is Thanksgiving Day in America.

"How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me? The chalice of salvation I will raise, and I will call on the name of the Lord." (Psalm  116:12-13).

"Sing and make music to the Lord in your hearts, always thanking God the Father for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus." (Ephesians 5:19 - 20).

"I will thank you, Lord, with all my heart, for you have heard the words of my mouth." (Psalm 138 :1).

America is God’s own country. God has blessed America mightily. Not for a few people. But for the many. Everyone wants to come to America. Everyone wants to enjoy God's blessings and benevolence to America and thank our most loving God and Father. There must be a legal path for this. Immigration reform! Subito!

Are you a thankful person?

Everything we have: country, family, health, money, job, food, friends, every possession from the smallest to the largest is a gift from God.

How do we render thanks for the gifts we enjoy?

Do you know the source of your gifts? Do you know that God expects us to render thanks?

"A sacrifice of thanksgiving honors me." (Psalm 50: 23).

This means that God is most delighted if you honor Him with the Sacrifice of the Mass (Eucharist = Thanksgiving).

On Thanksgiving Day, let us lift our hearts and minds to God in praise and thanksgiving:

"Father all-powerful, your gifts of love are countless and your goodness infinite; as we come before you on Thanksgiving Day with gratitude for your kindness, open our hearts to have concern for every man, woman, and child, so that we may share your gifts in loving service. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever." (Collect, Thanksgiving Mass).

November is the Month we pray for the Souls in PURGATORY.

“For the souls in purgatory there is great joy as well as pain as they know for certain they are bound for Heaven!” ~ St. Catherine of Genoa.
