God's Law of the Mustard Seed.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches." (Matthew 13: 31 - 32).

Monday 27th July 2020, 17th Week in Ordinary Time.

Jesus in our key Scripture for today gives a critical insight into the mystery not just of the kingdom of God but of all life. The principle of the mustard seed is the law of Biology. All life obeys the life cycle concept: birth, growth, maturity, decline and death follow each other. Everything is created small. "The word was made flesh" and got in-planted in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a tiny seed like a mustard seed. In the fullness of time, the seed became a little baby, then a boy and then the Man Jesus.

"The seed and beginning of the Kingdom" of God is the Church. (CCC 674). It began as a mustard seed. A few disciples. Today, billions of disciple Christians spread all over the world.
A great experience I still cherish was when I attended Micro Computer Technology fare in Paris in 1985. Microsoft and Apple also attended. They weren't well known then. I visited their 12 feet by 12 feet cubicles. Their beginnings were a mustard-seed-like startup. Today they are global giants.

How do we apply the principle of the Mustard to our life purpose, goals and projects?

#1 Water it by daily prayer.
#2 Get wisdom and insights via the Word of God.
#3 Trusting in God to see you through, walk by faith and not by sight or feeling.
#4 Perseverance. Nothing good is ever accomplished without perseverance. It takes a mango seed about 1400 days from planting to your dinner table.

God chose Steve Job and Bill Gates and used them to give the world two great products. These products are simply indispensable today in the new Evangelization. God Never Fails nor does He make a mistake. Trust Him.

  1. How could you use Bill Gates or Steve Jobs as examples of anything Biblical? I am beyond disappointed that you could use Bill Gates as an example for ANYTHING good considering his role in the current world situation. Have you gone mad? Are you complicit in evil?

    2. Seriously that is your response to legitimate objections? And you copy and paste the same response when raises legitimate objections to the use of two extremely ungodly people as some kind of example? Shame on you for being unintelligent, uninspiring and frankly heretical. You just managed to make me delete Laudate from my phone.

  2. I think we should be leery at looking to Bill Gates as an example. I understand the analogy to faith and that is a good point, but I think good Catholics should be aware of his ties to planned parenthood and population control.

  5. Very disappointed and confused that you would use two wolves in sheep's clothing in today's Bible verse. Who do send my complaint to? You are allowing the enemy to infiltrate the Catholic faith. Was expecting to see a picture of St. Anne and St. Joachim.

    1. Thanks. Remember God chose them to give us the key tools for Evangelization. The Church gratefully depends on the technology God gave us through the two men.

  7. This is unbelievable! You explain the verse and talk about planting a seed in the womb. Bill Gates is one of the biggest drivers to destroy the precious life growing in the womb! Your fandom from 1985 has blinded you. There are so many more that are worthy of the analogy. So many great Catholic titans of industry, but you chose one that is clearly guided by Satan. How can we take this site seriously?

    2. This can’t be a Catholic source. Comparing these two men to God? One who is littering Africa with contraception and readily available abortion for ‘population’ control? We are to judge actions, but not the soul. I judge their actions as not in line with basic Christian teaching. These ‘tools’ of evangelization? Don’t you think the best evangelizers were the apostles? They used their words and their works to convert. These ‘tools’ have only wreaked havoc and created a world where censorship of conservative Christian values are accepted.

    1. You say God desires mercy not judgment, but you are calling everyone that doesn't agree with you a hypocrite. That proves you are the hypocrite and a Charlatan. This is not a Catholic group. Look at their Facebook people. The Church teaches that if you support abortion you excommunicate yourself. This is just a techie fanboy who is blinded by worldly pursuits. The devil also uses people for his means. Do you not consider it is the devil that is blinding your fanboy love of Gates? You only look at one aspect of Gates. His death cult far outweighs the good he has done. What you do to the least of these, you also do to me! He's evil.

  11. Daily Bible Verse said...
Are you familiar with the teachings of the Catholic Church on life issues.
Very simple: RESPECT FOR LIFE FROM WOMB TO TOMB.
Do you support this? Or are holier than the Pope? Are you holier than the Fathers Doctors of the Church? Every one of them and all the canonized saints support fully the teachings of the Catholic Church. Are you certified as a Catechist in any diocese?
Now read this and understand it.
In the Church, there is no LEFT or RIGHT or LIBERAL.
It is the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
The Church is not Brazilian, European, Indian, Chinese, African, etc.
    It is the One Church.
This is the Church we serve in catechesis and evangelization.

You are welcome to join us.

    1. Right, and the point everyone is making to your failed post is that Bill Gates actively works to end life in the womb. This is a fact that you struggle with. There is no Christian humility towards the concerns people are raising. You are just arrogantly doubling down. Perhaps a statement of, ok, Bill Gates has done many evils, however, I was trying to point to his advancement in global communications Etc. Basic teaching tools Catechists should have at their disposal. It's okay to fail, learn from it.

Brother or sister, a little more charity is in order! Jesus Christ came for the salvation of sinners. I am truly the worst. He saved me and gave me the ministry.

  13. These two satanic people do not work for God, they work for the devil! Bill Gates new vaccine has been proven to come with aborted baby body parts. Please remove these demonic people entirely from your post! There are so many Catholics, now saints, who did let themselves be used for God’s will who you could’ve chosen. Choosing these people over them is a betrayal of your Catholic faith. Our Lord still loves you, and I hope you receive this message charitably.

    1. The devil seeks to destroy life. That’s what Bill Gates does therefore he is satanic. You sound like a Protestant when you say Jesus came to save everyone, and you don’t take into account the actions required of each man to reach Heaven. A Catholic is supposed to live by truth, not by popular opinion. Remember the 3rd sorrowful mystery of the rosary? Why are you so prideful that you refuse to take this down? Who are you trying to impress? If you take this post down you favor the lord. If you leave it up because you don’t want to be proved wrong, you probably keep your credibility with your followers but you put your soul and theirs souls in danger. Do you notice something here? I don’t win anything from you taking this down. No one commenting wins anything. We are doing this for you and for your followers.

    3. Not by truth???? Our faith is based on the Logos Who is the Truth!! You cannot divorce reason in the name of faith. That is not true Christianity!... Anyway, I am just a messenger. It is up to you to decide what to do with this post. I will say a prayer for you and everyone following you.

    1. Accept the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic Church with humility.
      Remember the ABC of Mercy:
A: Ask for mercy for your sins.
B: Be merciful to everyone who has offended you or whom you brand a horrible sinner.
C: Confidently trust the merciful love of Jesus and not in your filthy Works.

  16. Given you are calling everyone who objects, a hypocrite. You should consider the legitimate issues people have with them popping up in their daily scripture reading. They are the farthest thing from Catholic teaching you can get.

  17. The Church's teaching on life is: RESPECT FOR LIFE FROM WOMB TO TOMB.
Some people don't accept this political reasons. The Church is not a political entity. It teaches the truth as revealed from Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and Sacred Magisterium.
Are you part of the clique that rejects the authoritative Magisterium on RESPECT FOR LIFE?
How should we characterize such people?

  18. What on the world?! Gates is a monster and should not be looked up to! Has this site been hacked?! If not, that's even scarier that a Catholic would seriously spread this evilness as goodness. Smh.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bill Gates and Steve Job are used as analogy. Do you understand what analogy is. The main subject matter is Mustard Seed. The Church started as a mustard seed. It grew to cover the whole world as in the Parable of Jesus.
Both Apple and Microsoft started as mustard seeds. Both companies and their founders are excellent examples to illustrate the principle of the Mustard Seed. Like the Apostles, Bill and Gates did not have college education. Their success illustrate the power and sovereignty of God to choose and use whom He will.

Now, if you hate Bill Gates and Steve Job so much, why don't you smash and crush your smart phones and computers? If you can't, then you are a naive hypocrite.

You call people hypocrites and judge them while condemning for judging others. This is the very definition of hypocrisy.

    1. Hypocrites because one sinner cannot say to another sinner, "You are sinner." We are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God.

Secondly, you cannot continue to use your computer and smart phone and at the same time pray to God to cast the inventors into hell.

Last but not least, the Church teaches that Prolife means support for life from WOMB to TOMB.
You are concerned only with abortion, thereby teaching a different doctrine and casting aspersions on the authority of the Sacred Magisterium.

Peace and blessings to you always. πŸ™
