GIVE US ALWAYS THE EUCHARIST.
GIVE US THIS BREAD ALWAYS.
THE GOOD NEWS:
"The crowd said to Jesus: “What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:
He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
So Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
So they said to Jesus, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” (John 6: 30 - 35).
Tuesday May 6th in the 3rd Week in the Easter Season.
“Sir, give us this bread always.”
Where in the Gospel of St John did we hear a similar request of Jesus?
"The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I may not be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water.” (John 4: 15).
The Samaritan Woman and the Crowd in today's Gospel are looking for something more than ordinary bread or water.
Jesus is truly the Bread of life who comes to us in Holy Communion. One month every year, the Church inspired by the Holy spirit gives us the opportunity to reflect on the immense Gift of the Holy Eucharist and the opportunity to renew our faith and gratitude.
The Eucharist = Body & Blood, Soul & Divinity of Jesus Christ. The Food for the Journey.
Sacred Heart = Physical Heart of Jesus, a Demonstration of His love.
The Church dedicate ALL APRIL to honoring the Most Holy Eucharist.
