JESUS EXPELLED THE DEMONS.

JESUS ENCOUNTERS THE DEMONIAC FACE TO FACE.

THE GOSPEL:
"When Jesus came to the territory of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs who were coming from the tombs met him. They were so savage that no one could travel by that road.

They cried out, “What have you to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?”

Some distance away a herd of many swine was feeding.

The demons pleaded with him, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.”

And he said to them, “Go then!”

They came out and entered the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea where they drowned.

The swineherds ran away, and when they came to the town they reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs. Thereupon the whole town came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him they begged him to leave their district." (Matthew 8: 28 - 34).

Wednesday 2nd July in the 13th Week in Ordinary Time.

In the dramatic encounter of Jesus with the Demoniacs, we see how easy it is for Jesus to heal the Demoniac. Just one word. Remember the healing of the Ten Lepers, the Blind Man Bartimaeus, the Raising of Lazarus to life. Just One Word to effect the miracle. This is because Jesus is God. All things are possible for God. All things are simple for God.

The narratives of miracles in the Gospel are not for our entertainment but to excite our faith and courage us to come to Jesus and ask for miracle.

Whatever is your need: health, job, money, food, peace, come to Jesus with confident faith and He will grant your request. If it is necessary for you to wait a week, a month, a year or many years for the answer, wait for Jesus. Wait with faith and courage.

“Go home to your family and ­announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.” This is the divine command of Jesus. What is the result?

"Then the man went off and began to proclaim in the Decapolis what Jesus had done for him; and all were amazed."

 Mark the Evangelist wrote in his version of the narrative of the Demoniac.

The Demoniac did not go to school or seminary before he started evangelizing.

He "began to proclaim in the Decapolis what Jesus had done for him; and all were amazed."

Testimonies convert people and strengthen the faith of many.

The Church honors the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ in July.
