THE GOODNEWS:

"The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter.

And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon. 

So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify to me. But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep. 

My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. 

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.” (John 10: 22 - 30). O

Tuesday 13th May 2025 in the 4th Week of the Easter Season. 

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, not a solemnity but a feast celebrated worldwide because of the significance of the message of Fatima. What does Fatima mean to Christians and why does it matter? First, Fatima is in the domain of private revelation. Nobody is obligated to believe the message. But because the Church approves the apparitions of the Blessed Mother in Fatima in 1917, and very importantly because the Church gives it a place in its solemn liturgy, it makes sense to pay attention to it.

What is the message of Fatima?

"The message of Fatima includes a call to conversion of heart, repentance from sin and a dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary, shown especially by praying the Rosary." (Roman Missal, Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13).

In our key Scripture for today, Jesus says:

"My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand."

Do you hear the voice of Jesus? You hear His voice by listening to the Scriptures every day. 

If your heart is troubled by affairs of this world: family, health, money, politics, etc, it is because you do not put your trust in Jesus Christ. In you depend on the world for your peace and serenity, you are promised lots of trouble. But it should not be so. 

Listen to the promises of Jesus. Reflect on them continually and you shall have peace. Below are a few of the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ. Call them healing truths because they destroy the lies of Satan in the soul and establish the peace of Christ. 

1. "I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” 

2."It is I. Do not be afraid." 

3. "Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God and believe in Me also."

4. "Fear is useless. All you need is Faith."

5. "My grace is sufficient for you. For power is made effective in weakness."

The Church honors the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Month of May.
