DISSENSION FOLLOWED JESUS EVERYWHERE.
DISSENSION AND DIVISION FOLLOWED JESUS.
THE GOSPEL:
"Some in the crowd who heard these words of Jesus said,
“This is truly the Prophet.”
Others said, “This is the Christ.”
But others said, “The Christ will not come from Galilee, will he?
Does not Scripture say that the Christ will be of David’s family and come from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”
So a division occurred in the crowd because of him.
Some of them even wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him.
So the guards went to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them,
“Why did you not bring him?”
The guards answered,
“Never before has anyone spoken like this man.”
So the Pharisees answered them,
“Have you also been deceived? Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him?
But this crowd, which does not know the law, is accursed.”
Nicodemus, one of their members who had come to him earlier, said to them,
“Does our law condemn a man before it first hears him and finds out what he is doing?”
They answered and said to him,
“You are not from Galilee also, are you? Look and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”
Then each went to his own house" (John 7: 40 - 53).
Saturday 21st March 2026 in the 4th Week of Lent.
As Jesus embarked in His public ministry, dissension and division followed Him everywhere. No surprise at all because Simeon prophesied this to Mary and Joseph in the Temple during the Presentation of Jesus.
"Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted." (Luke 2: 34).
Like the Prophet Jeremiah in the first Reading, Jesus "knew their plot because the Lord informed me; at that time you, O Lord, showed me their doings." (Cf Jeremiah11:18-20).
"So a division occurred in the crowd because of him [Jesus]." (John 7: 43).
Jesus was born to be a sign of contradiction.
This is true while he was walking the muddy terrain of Galilee as it is today, 2000 years after He ascended into Heaven.
Let us consider the cause of dissensions about Jesus today:
#1. The First is Ignorance: The dissenters in the days of Jesus could have easily learned that Jesus was born in Bethlehem and not in Nazareth.
They did not care to find out. "Ignorance of Scripture is Ignorance of Christ." (St Jerome).
#2. Today, people can look at the religious terrain in Christianity and ask: Did Jesus truly found 60,000 churches? The multiplicity of churches is a great cause of scandal and dissension.
#3. Some claim that the doctrine of Jesus is too harsh and restrictive. Why can't people destroy babies in the womb if they choose to or marry whoever they wish? For example.
#4. Who is this Jesus to tell us how to live our lives? Pseudo-philosophy.
The Gospel proclaims the eternal verity:
“Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted," proclaims prophecy. The Day of reckoning is coming. It came for the Jews in 70 AD. It will come for everyone sooner than later.
"O Lord, my God, in you I take refuge;
save me from all my pursuers and rescue me, lest I become like the lion’s prey, to be torn to pieces, with no one to rescue me." (Cf Psalm 7).
The Church honors St Joseph in the Month of March.
Joseph stands as the silent guardian of the Holy Family, a man whose life was entirely oriented toward the grand fulfillment of the Incarnation.
His role was not accidental but a profound act of Divine Providence, Cooperating with the Holy Spirit to protect the Person of Jesus and the Virgin Mary.

THE HOUR OF JESUS.
THE HOUR OF JESUS.
"So they tried to arrest him, but no one laid a hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come."
Jesus wants us to trust Him with the Hour in our lives. (IN SINU JESU).
Jesus is absolutely in control of every second in our life. Nothing happens unless Jesus permits it.
THEY COULD NOT HARM JESUS BECAUSE HIS HOUR HAS NOT COME.
"Jesus moved about within Galilee; he did not wish to travel in Judea, because the Jews were trying to kill him. But the Jewish feast of Tabernacles was near.
"But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, he himself also went up, not openly but as it were in secret.
"Some of the inhabitants of Jerusalem said, “Is he not the one they are trying to kill? And look, he is speaking openly and they say nothing to him. Could the authorities have realized that he is the Christ? But we know where he is from. When the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from.”
"So Jesus cried out in the temple area as he was teaching and said, “You know me and also know where I am from. Yet I did not come on my own, but the one who sent me, whom you do not know, is true. I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me.”
So they tried to arrest him, but no one laid a hand upon him, because his hour had not yet come." (John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30).
Friday March 20th 2026 in the 4th Week of Lent.
"TRUST ME WITH THE TIMING OF ALL THINGS." - JESUS CHRIST - (IN SINU JESU).
"They tried to arrest him, but his hour had not yet come." (Cf John 7: 30).
On Friday, 20th March 2026, we reflect on the Hour of Destiny.
Jesus refers uncannily to His hour not yet come or His hour that has come.
What is this hour that Jesus talks about all the time?
We know that the biblical concept of time is divided into Chronos time and Kairos time.
Chronos time from where we get chronology: years, months, weeks, hours, minutes, etc.
Is this what Jesus means when He talks of the Hour? For example: Friday. March 20, 2026?
Or does Jesus allude to Kairos time, which can be interpreted as the hour of grace, the appointed time set by the Almighty Father for the execution or realization of His plans, purposes, designs and providences.
God’s Kairos hour governs all events in the life of Jesus, viz: Birth, Baptism, Desert Experience, Transfiguration, Last Supper, Passion, Death and Resurrection to mention but the outstanding ones.
It also governs the major events in our life.
Nothing is left to Chance.
Are you impatient that some prayers or expectations of yours have not been fulfilled?
Are you in the appointed time?
Nothing happens in God's government of the world before the appointed time.
"There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens." (Ecclesiastes 3: 1).
In the fullness of time, Jesus would hand over Himself to be glorified on the Cross.
For the Cross is the appointed means of the glorification of the Son of Man. Before that hour, no enemy can harm Jesus.
As followers of Jesus, our lives are hemmed in by God's loving and powerful Providence.
If we make the Kingdom of God and His holiness the top priority of our life, God's promise of provision and protection for us will never fail.
"Praise to you, O Christ, king of eternal glory!
"Now, now – it is the Lord who speaks –come back to me with all your heart, for I am all tenderness and compassion." ( Joel 2: 12 - 13).
St Joseph is the man chosen by God to be the foster father and guardian of Jesus.
Joseph is a man of high purity and chastity. God chose him to be the husband of Mary because God had fitted him with the appropriate graces to protect the perpetual virginity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Church considers St Joseph the greatest Saint after the Blessed Virgin Mary. Joseph is so fittingly named the Patron of the Universal Church. Remember that he was the Guardian of Jesus and in his intercessory role, you can believe that Jesus will deny nothing to Joseph.

THE SOLEMNITY OF ST JOSEPH, THE HOLY SPOUSE OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN.
SOLEMNITY OF ST JOSEPH, HUSBAND OF MARY.
THE GOOD NEWS:
"Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Christ.
"Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.
"Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly.
"Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.
For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her.
She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
"When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home." (Matthew1:16, 18-21, 24a).
Thursday 19th March 2026 in the 4th Week of Lent is Solemnity of St Joseph , the holy Spouse of the Immaculate Virgin.
“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her." (Matthew 1: 20).
Here is what we know about Joseph:
#1. Joseph is from the royal line of David.
#2. A carpenter by trade and a man of humble means.
#3. He is a just and honest man.
#4. Because it was not good for a woman with child to be alone, God chose Joseph to provide for Mary and Jesus; to protect them and to be foster father to Jesus and raise Him up in virtue and manly manners.
5. Joseph excelled in all the roles that Divine Providence entrusted to him.
6. Joseph is the patron saint of the Church and a powerful intercessor for the Church and us all.
7. He is also the patron saint of a happy death.
Jesus praises Joseph:
"Let My priests be fathers! Let them beg Me for the grace of spiritual fatherhood, and I will give it to them in abundance.
Such a man was Saint Joseph. He was the living image of My Father, and he was chosen by My Father to be a father to Me in My sacred humanity.
Let My priests go to Saint Joseph.
He will obtain for them this priceless gift of spiritual fatherhood, and he will guide them in the delicate and difficult work of being true fathers to souls" (IN SINU JESU. Friday, November 15, 2013).

THE FEAST OF ST CYRIL OF JERUSALEM, BISHOP AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH.
FEAST OF ST CYRIL OF JERUSALEM. BISHOP DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH AND MASTER CATECHIST.
IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME I WILL ANSWER YOU.
THE WORD OF GOD:
"Thus says the LORD:
In a time of favor I answer you,
on the day of salvation I help you;
"and I have kept you and given you as a covenant to the people,
To restore the land
and allot the desolate heritages,
"Saying to the prisoners: Come out!
To those in darkness: Show yourselves!
"Along the ways they shall find pasture,
on every bare height shall their pastures be.
They shall not hunger or thirst,
nor shall the scorching wind or the sun strike them;
"For he who pities them leads them
and guides them beside springs of water.
I will cut a road through all my mountains,
and make my highways level.
"See, some shall come from afar,
others from the north and the west,
and some from the land of Syene.
"Sing out, O heavens, and rejoice, O earth,
break forth into song, you mountains.
For the LORD comforts his people
and shows mercy to his afflicted.
"But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me;
my Lord has forgotten me."
Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you." (Isaiah 49: 8 - 15).
Wednesday 18th March 2026 in the 4th Week in Lent.
Today is the feast of St Cyril of Jerusalem, Bishop and Doctor of the Church. St Cyril of Jerusalem is known as a Master Catechist. We shall see why.
St Cyril lived between 315 and 386.
St Cyril was the Archbishop of Jerusalem when the Arian heresy disturbed the peace of the Church all over the Roman Empire.
Cyril vigorously defended the unchangeable teachings of the Church. For this, he suffered multiple exiles from the See of Jerusalem.
St Cyril is recognized in history by his catechetical works. He prepared multitudes of Catechumens to receive Baptism and helped the Neophytes after Easter to grow in the faith. What is really providential in the work and legacy of San Cyrillo is that he documented his teachings which have come to us.
His writings of over 1600 years ago prove that the Catholic Church is the same in teachings and beliefs in the late 300s as she is today. Nothing has changed.
Some Quotes from the Master Catechist, St Cyril of Jerusalem:
1. “Your accumulated offences do not surpass the multitude of God’s mercies; your wounds do not surpass the great Physician’s skill.”
2. “The Spirit comes gently and makes himself known by his fragrance. He is not felt as a burden, for he is light, very light.”
3. “Since Christ Himself has said, ‘This is My Body,’ who shall dare to doubt that it is His Body?”
4. “Do not be a friend to Jesus in times of peace alone. Do not rejoice in the Cross only in times of peace; preserve the same faith in times of persecution.”
Our first Reading on this Lenten weekday is full of God's gracious promises.
The first thing that attracted me to Sacred Scriptures was the word Promise.
Webster Defines Promise as:
"The meaning of PROMISE is a declaration that one will do or refrain from doing something specified."
So, is God going to fulfill all the promises in Isaiah 49: 8 - 15?
The answer is upfront in the very first sentence:
"Thus says the LORD:
In a time of favor I answer you,
on the day of salvation I help you;"
God answers every prayer. To deny this is to accuse God to be a liar which is outright heresy.
What is confusing for many people is the timing of God's answer.
In our Scripture of today God says:
"In a time of favor I answer you,
on the day of salvation I help you;"
Another word for "In a time of favor", or on the "day of salvation" I help you; is: IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME.
Every Promise God makes has a date and a time stamp. We do not know the date and the time.
Scripture promises that God will not be late to fulfill His promises by even one second. (Cf Habakkuk 2: 3).
Scripture urges us to wait for the timing of the fulfillment of the Promise of God.
If you think the delay is unbearable, pray for the grace to wait.
Saints Simeon and Anna are my patron saints. They waited long for the birth of Jesus. Both were rewarded to hold Jesus in their arms. I ask them to obtain for me the grace to wait.
God says: In the fullness of time, I will make everything beautiful. (Cf Ecclesiastes 3: 11).
And in fullness of time, I shall move fast. (Cf Isaiah 60: 22).

FEAST OF ST PATRICK, BISHOP AND MISSIONARY.
FEAST OF ST PATRICK, BISHOP AND MISSIONARY.
DO YOU WANT TO BE WELL?
"There was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem at the Sheep Gate a pool called in Hebrew Bethesda, with five porticoes.
"In these lay a large number of ill, blind, lame, and crippled. One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.
"When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been ill for a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be well?”
"The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; while I am on my way, someone else gets down there before me.”
"Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your mat, and walk.” Immediately the man became well, took up his mat, and walked.
Now that day was a sabbath.
"So the Jews said to the man who was cured, “It is the sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.” He answered them, “The man who made me well told me, ‘Take up your mat and walk.’”
"They asked him, “Who is the man who told you, ‘Take it up and walk’?” The man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away, since there was a crowd there.
"After this Jesus found him in the temple area and said to him, “Look, you are well; do not sin any more, so that nothing worse may happen to you.”
"The man went and told the Jews that Jesus was the one who had made him well.
"Therefore, the Jews began to persecute Jesus because he did this on a sabbath." (John 5: 1 - 16).
Tuesday 17th March 2026 in the 4th Week in Lent. Today is the feast of St Patrick, Bishop and Missionary.
St Patrick lived between 389 and 461. His nationality is British-Irish. St Patrick was a Bishop and a great Missionary. He is the Patron saint of Ireland and Nigeria.
St Patrick teaches us that persistence in prayer breaks resistance. St Patrick had a great desire to become a priest. He was opposed by powerful clerics because he was considered too old and not able to withstand the rigors of the studies involved. Convinced by the intensity of his desire to become a priest, he persisted. Result: St Patrick is one of the most powerful priests that ascended the Altar of God. Not just that, St Patrick was consecrated the Bishop of all Ireland.
Prayer for healing is the most common type of prayer.
We desperately pray for our own healing. We pray for members of our family and for friends and others.
There is no enjoyment in life greater than good health. Good health is a treasure greater than gold and silver.
What do we make of what Jesus said to the man who had been praying for healing for 38 years, whom He had just healed?
“Look, you are well; do not sin any more, so that nothing worse may happen to you.”
There is a tight connection between SIN, SUFFERING, SALVATION.
The whole truth of the Gospel is that Sin causes Suffering. The desperate effort to get rid of our suffering is what brings us to Salvation, that is the encounter with Jesus.
Desperate people are more open to faith than self satisfied people.
Whose Sin causes us to suffer? Our own Sin, Family members, Neighbors, Country's, the World.
There are suffering that is redemptive. Some chosen souls participate in the sufferings of Jesus Christ for the good of souls. For example: Saints Catherine of Siena, Padre Pio, Therese of the Child Jesus, etc.
Jesus had no personal Sin. He suffered for the Sin of the world. Jesus - our Savior can deliver us from sins and the effects of sin.
Lent is a great time to reflect on SIN, SUFFERING and SALVATION. Prayer, fasting and almsgiving are the solid means of dealing with sin. The Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are divine provisions for victory over sins.

HOW BELIEVE CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
ALL YOU NEED IS BELIEVE.
THE GOOD NEWS:
"At that time Jesus left [Samaria] for Galilee. For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his native place. When he came into Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, since they had seen all he had done in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves had gone to the feast.
"Then he returned to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine.
"Now there was a royal official whose son was ill in Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, who was near death.
"Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”
"The royal official said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.” The man believed what Jesus said to him and left.
"While the man was on his way back, his slaves met him and told him that his boy would live. He asked them when he began to recover. They told him, “The fever left him yesterday, about one in the afternoon.” The father realized that just at that time Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live,” and he and his whole household came to believe.
"Now this was the second sign Jesus did when he came to Galilee from Judea." (John 4: 43 - 54).
Monday 16th March 2026 in the 4th week in Lent.
In our key Scripture for today, we see an example of faith in action. Faith is the radical trust and confidence in the word of Christ. Faith is the instinct and impulse that everything is worth trying to resolve an existential problem. No dire problem, no faith.
Jesus said simply to the Royal Official: “You may go; your son will live.” The Scripture records:
"The man believed what Jesus said to him and left." (John 4: 50).
How I envy the faith of the official.
Our faith contains our obedience. We see the example in the Gospel of today. To say that "I believe" and act contrary to what you believe is not faith but hypocrisy.
If any Christian invests time and resources to learn what Faith is and how Faith works, the harvest will be incredibly huge and this gift will keep giving and giving all your life.
Consider Faith as Obedience. The Royal Official heard Jesus say: Don't worry. Go home. Your son is OK. He believes and went home. He obeyed the directive. No questions. No arguments. Are you able to imitate his action and show the Obedience of Faith?
Consider also that the man's faith was prepared by what he heard about Jesus before he met Him.
"When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, who was near death."
When you share what God has done for you or other people, you prepare souls to encounter Jesus.
When we read the Gospel, we see many healings and miracles. The stories are preparing us to believe and deepen our Faith in Jesus. You do not know when you will stand face to face with Jesus needing His help. Faith comes from hearing. Hearing the word of God and believing it.
Faith is an exciting subject. If you want your Faith to grow, read a lot what the Saints say about Faith. Here are a few examples below:
1. “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” – St. Augustine of Hippo.
2. “Faith has to do with things that are not seen, and hope with things that are not in hand.” – St. Thomas Aquinas.
3. “I believe though I do not comprehend, and I hold by faith what I cannot grasp with the mind.” – St. Bernard of Clairvaux
4. “Faith lifts the soul. Hope supports it. Experience says it must. And Love says let it be!” – St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Jesus says:
"Many priests do not have a real and practical faith in My Eucharistic presence. Do they not know that the Eucharist encloses within itself all the merits of My Passion? Let them recover the faith of their childhood. Let them come to find Me there where I am waiting for them and I, for My part, shall work miracles of grace and holiness in them." (IN SINU JESU, Monday, October 29, 2007).
