FEAST OF ST CAMILLUS DE ELLIS. PRIEST AND NURSE AND FOUNDER.

FEAST OF ST CAMILLUS DE ELLIS. PRIEST AND NURSE.

THE GOODNEWS:

"But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him, how to destroy him.

 Jesus, aware of this, withdrew from there.

And many followed him, and he healed them all,

and ordered them not to make him known.

 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:

 "Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased.

I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

 He will not wrangle or cry aloud, nor will any one hear his voice in the streets;

 he will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick, till he brings justice to victory;

 and in his name will the Gentiles hope."

Matthew 12: 14 - 21).

Saturday 18th July 2026, 15th Week in Ordinary Time is the feast of St Camillus de Lellis. (1550 -

1614). Italian. Priest.

Camillus gave his life to Jesus after a troubled youth.

 He worked in Giacomo Hospital. While working here, he heard the call from God to found an order dedicated to the care of the sick.

God gave St Camillus a special love for the sick. He founded the Order of the Camellians and improved the treatment and care of hospital patients.

St. Camillus de Lellis was a man transformed by grace: once a soldier, gambler, and wanderer, he became a priest and the founder of the Ministers of the Sick.

A lifelong sufferer himself, he learned to see Christ in the poor, the dying, and the wounded, and he devoted his life to caring for them with reverence, tenderness, and skill.

Patron Saint of hospitals, nurses, and the sick, he reminds us that mercy is not only a feeling but a holy way of life.

In the Gospel of today, Jesus retreated to the countryside to avoid his enemies.

Many sick people followed Him. He cured them all.

 People sought after Jesus because of His compassionate healing ministry.

 For Jesus, there was no need for hospitalization. He healed the sick instantly.

The Church founded early hospital systems and have been a key player in health-care services.

San Giocomo Hospital was founded in in the 14th century by the Church to deal with the epidemic of syphilis in Rome.

Are you sick and in need of healing? Do you realize that you can lay hand on yourself, family, friends and call on Jesus with faith to heal .

This should be the first step before going to the hospital.

 Medications and hospitals are gift of God to mankind. They should be used with deep gratitude to God.

I believe in Prayer.

I believe in the word of God.

I believe in Science.

I believe in Miracle.

I surrender everything to God to use whatever method He chooses.

 Jesus is still active in the healing ministry and testimonies abound.

We honor the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ in July.

The Precious Blood of Jesus Christ is the Direct Conduit of Divine Mercy.

"The Precious Blood is the key that opens the treasury of divine mercy.

It is the definitive sign that God’s love actively governs the history of every individual soul." — Pope St. John Paul II, Redemptor Hominis.

Do not let your weaknesses or sudden temporal friction become a barrier between you and the Person of Jesus;

 see them instead as the exact reason He displays His Blood to you. A physician does not visit those who are healthy, but those who are sick.

The providential purpose of realizing your own insufficiency is to force you to abandon your pride. Your weakness is the canvas upon which Divine Providence intends to display the absolute supremacy of His grace.

Step boldly before His throne today, offering Him your brokenness, and watch how His Blood transforms your wounds into channels of supernatural strength.

 Prayer:

Precious Blood of Jesus, unlock the treasures of divine mercy for my soul and rule sovereignly over my life.
