THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS.
THE MEMORIAL OF ST BARNABAS, APOSTLE.
THE MEMORIAL OF ST BARNABAS, APOSTLE.
Thursday 11th June 2026 is the Memorial of St Barnabas, Apostle. (+ 61).
St Barnabas, a Jew from Cyprus is profiled in Sacred Scripture as: "a good man, filled with the holy Spirit and faith." You won't find many Bible characters profiled with similar language. What else do we know about St Barnabas?
He was a levite. He discipled Paul the Apostle and mentored John Mark. He was generous in using all his time, talent and treasure in serving the Lord.
He was a prophet, teacher and evangelist. Barnabas was martyred in Cyprus under the reign of Emperor Nero in 61 AD. Although Barnabas was not one of the original 12 Apostles, Barnabas like Paul had been assigned the title Apostle since ancient times.
"While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul [Paul] for the work to which I have called them.” (Acts 13: 2).
The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Evangelization and Mission commissioned the first Missionary Journey of Paul and Barnabas.
The Church prays on the Feast of St Barnabas :
"O God, who decreed that Saint Barnabas, a man filled with faith and the Holy Spirit, should be set apart to convert the nations, grant that the Gospel of Christ, which he strenuously preached, may be faithfully proclaimed by word and by deed. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son." Amen.
The Church honors the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus every June.
Morning Offering Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:
"O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I offer you through the Immaculate Heart of Mary all my prayers and desires, all my sufferings, delays, disappointments and obstacles; all my time, talent and treasure, all my fears, worries and doubts as well as all my weaknesses. I offer all these on all the altars in the world where the Eucharist is celebrated today and on every Altar where Your Eucharistic Face is present. I offer them for the remission of my sins, for my family and [Mention the specific intention] and for the Holy Father Pope Leo. Amen."

PRACTICE AND TEACH WHAT YOU BELIEVE.
TEACHERS AND DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE CALLED THE GREATEST IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
THE GOODNEWS:
"Jesus said to his disciples:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.
Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5: 17 - 19).
Wednesday June 10th 2026 in the 10th Week in Ordinary Time.
There are many teachers of the Christian faith:
Bishops, priests, deacons like St Ephraim. Catechists and evangelists teach the Christian doctrine. Good parents make their homes the first school for transmitting faith to their children.
According to our great Teacher and Law-giver, ONLY he or she who obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” (Cf Matthew 5: 17 - 19).
Let us be encouraged to note and remember that there are a multitude of witnesses in Heaven who have fulfilled Jesus mandate and are enjoying eternal life.
To live and obey the precepts of the Kingdom, we must adhere to this maxim:
- Believe what you learn.
- Pactice what you believe.
- Teach what you practice.
This is the Passport to the Crowd of Witnesses in the Kingdom of God.
The Church honors the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Month of June.
"Can we doubt the goodness of Jesus when we look at His Heart?
No circumstance, trial, or sorrow happens by chance;
everything is measured by the loving design of His Heart to bring us to our final end."
— Fr. Jean Croiset, S.J.
Do not let your weaknesses or life's sudden friction become a barrier between you and the Person of Jesus;
see them instead as the very reason He reveals His Heart to you.
A physician does not visit those who are healthy, but those who are sick.
The providential purpose of realizing your own insufficiency is to force you to abandon your pride.
Your weakness is the canvas upon which Divine Providence intends to paint the masterpiece of His mercy.
Step boldly before His throne today,
offering Him your brokenness, and watch how His grace transforms your wounds into channels of supernatural strength.
Prayer:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I accept every trial today as a perfectly measured design of Your love.

THE FEAST OF ST EPHRAIM THE DEACON, DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH.
THE FEAST OF ST EPHRAIM THE SYRIAN, DEACON AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH.
"Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot."
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.
"Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5: 13 - 16).
Tuesday June 9th in the 10th Week in Ordinary Time is the feast of St Ephraim the Syrian. Deacon and Doctor of the Church.
St. Ephraim lived in the fourth century and became one of the most influential voices in early Christian literature.
Born in Nisibis and later settled in Edessa, he devoted his life to teaching the faith through Scripture, poetry, and hymnody.
His works defended Christian truth with clarity and beauty, earning him the title “Harp of the Holy Spirit.”
Though a deacon, he lived simply and humbly, avoiding honors and higher office.
The Church honors him as a great father of Syriac Christianity and a master of sacred song.
In today's Gospel, Jesus commands:
"Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” (Cf Matthew 5: 13 – 16)
Amen! I accept your word dear Jesus. I am the light of the world.
It is your intention that I be placed on a lampstand.
Praise, honor and glory be to you. You want me to shine. I will. May the Father be fully glorified in me and in my work.
Matthew 5: 13-16 makes Christ’s intention for his disciples abundantly clear.
He wants us to reflect his light to the world. He wants us to shine using the gifts he has given us.
There is a time to learn and a time to teach. There is a time to be under the bushel basket and a time to be set on a lampstand.
Today I am under a bushel basket. I am learning. Tomorrow, I will be placed on the lampstand, shining.
When the teacher is ready, the student appears.

The Daily Offering through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
"O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass."
Contemplate the immense power of the daily morning offering. This is not a routine formula; it is a profound teleological act that completely re-orders every second of your day toward eternity.
By passing your prayers, works, joys, and physical sufferings through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, they are stripped of self-love and perfectly aligned with the global intentions of the Person of Jesus.
Divine Providence takes your small, daily actions—your keystrokes, your silences, your moments of physical weariness—and unites them to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Nothing you experience today is wasted; everything is transformed into currency for the salvation of souls.
Prayer:
Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You every heartbeat of this day, O Lord.

THANK JESUS FOR THE BEATITUDES.
THANK JESUS FOR THE BEATITUDES.
"Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him.
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
"Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven." (Matthew 5: 1 - 12a).
In the list of the Beatitudes above, Jesus paints a perfect picture of Himself.
Starting from the first Beatitude, no one can dispute the truth that Jesus is not only poor in spirit but actually materially very poor. He did not have the small money to pay His Temple tax.
Jesus mourned for sins and the consequences of sins in the world.
The sins of men is the principal reason for Poverty, Ignorance and Disease in the world.
Let's skip to my favorite:
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."
Why am I attracted to this Beatitude? Simple! The ABC of Mercy is my favorite maxim:
A - ASK FOR MERCY.
B - BE MERCIFUL.
C - COMPLETELY TRUST JESUS FOR MERCY.
Thanks to the DIARY OF ST MARIA FAUSTINA, I have learned a lot of the bottomless Mercy of Jesus for Sinners.
The Church honors the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Month of June.
"God has treasures of mercy for us which we cannot conceive, and the key to these treasures is the Heart of Jesus. The Holy Spirit opens this gate to all who approach with simple confidence in His Providence."
— St. Claude de la Colombière, SJ.
We live in a world filled with noisy opinions, complex decisions, and endless distractions.
Yet, the teleology of the human intellect is to know the Truth, which is a Person.
The Sacred Heart is the ultimate classroom of the soul.
When you face confusion about your health or your daily obligations, stop seeking answers from the world first. Go to the quiet of your interior life where the Holy Spirit dwells.
Look at the meekness and humility of Jesus.
By studying His reactions, His silences, and His profound obedience to the Father, you will find the precise roadmap for your own life's purpose.
Prayer:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, lock me within Your treasures of mercy through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Ruler and Lord of my life, I consecrate my entire heart to You.
