Be filled with the Holy Spirit

"So Ananias went and entered the house; laying his hands on him, he said, “Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the holy Spirit.”  (Acts 9: 17)

Lord Jesus, lay your hands on me that I may regain my spiritual sight.  I want to see my circumstances as you see them.  I want to see my family, my health, my finances, job, tools, food and future as you see them.

Fill me with your Holy Spirit.  I want to be free to serve you as you deserve to be served.

I am the living Bread

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”  (John 6: 51)

No ambiguity here.  No symbolism.  No metaphor.  As it was stated and written, so did the Church of the Apostles understood John 6: 51.  So has this statement been understood ever since.  So shall it be understood by the Church of Jesus Christ forever.

Lord Jesus, thank you for your Holy Spirit for preserving this truth for your Church in the past, now and forever.

The true Bread

John 6:35
35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

Isaiah 55:1-2
The Compassion of the Lord

55:1 “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters;and he who has no money, come, buy and eat!Come, buy wine and milkwithout money and without price.2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy?Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.

Matthew 4:4
4 But he answered, “It is written,“‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

God's powerful providence fulfills all our needs in a timely manner.

There is something greater than bread to live for : JESUS- Our Bread of life,  the Word of God.

John 6:27
27 Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”

Everyone who sees the Son

"For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day.”  (John 6: 40)

What does it mean to "see" the Son?  It means to:

  • See His word
  • See His works/signs
  • See His Church
  • See His Sacraments

In John 6: 40, seeing and believing are one and the same.  To see the word of God, the ongoing works and signs of Jesus, the Church as a manifestation of His presence in the world, the effective presence of Jesus in the Sacraments of the Church is to believe in these realities.

Jesus asks Bartimaeus, "What do you want me to do for you?"  "Lord, that I may see!"
Lord, open our eyes that we may see you in your word, in your works and signs in the world today.  Help us to see you in your Church and in the seven Sacraments of your Church.  Amen!

Our Mother of Perpetual

Bread of life

"Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst."  (John 6: 35)

Jesus gave us the Bread of life.  What in the world can He refuse us?  Nothing!!

We must obey God rather than men

"But Peter and the apostles said in reply, “We must obey God rather than men."  (Acts 5: 29)

A principle is laid down here very clearly.  When there is a conflict between divine and human jurisprudence, God's law takes precedence.  Those who are saved recognize this principle through the light of the indwelling Spirit and obey it come what may.

Lord, may we have always the light to see the truth and the fortitude to obey it.

Chosen, anointed and sent to bear rich fruit

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."  (1 Peter 2: 9)

The Lord declares me chosen, called and anointed to be a royal priest, a holy man and one He has chosen and dedicated for Himself.  He rescued me out of darkness and placed in a wonderful light to go and bear fruit that will last.

"I will bear a witness to you in the world, O Lord.  I will spread the knowledge of your name among my brothers, alleluia."

"LORD, my allotted portion and my cup,
you have made my destiny secure.
Pleasant places were measured out for me;
fair to me indeed is my inheritance."  (Psalm 16: 5 - 6)

The Enterprise is not of human origin

"So now I tell you, have nothing to do with these men, and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself.
But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God.” They were persuaded by him."  (Acts 5: 38 - 39)

I received this word of God early in 0296.  I received it from PSSJ.  I remember the situation clearly as if it is yesterday.  Because I remember the when, the how and the why of this word of God to me, I know it is a revelation.

The Enterprise is built on this unfailing word.  If God is with me, the mission is accomplished.  Therefore,
"I believe I shall see the LORD’s goodness
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD, take courage;
be stouthearted, wait for the LORD"  (Psalm 27: 13 - 14)

Also because "If God is for me, who can be against me?" (Romans 8: 31)

God does not ration the gift of the Spirit

" God does not ration the gift of the Spirit." (John 3 :34)

" The Lord hears the cry of the poor. " (Psalm 34:6)

Father, I am poor and needy.  Hear my cry and grant me the fullness of your Holy Spirit to lead me to the fullness of conversion and charity.

" And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28 :20)

If the Lord is with me, it is accomplished.

Planted in the House of the Lord

Psalm 92:13-16
The just shall flourish like the palm tree, shall grow like a cedar of Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bear fruit even in old age, always vigorous and sturdy, As they proclaim: "The Lord is just; our rock, in whom there is no wrong."

What a beautiful promise!!
This is how it feels when one is planted in the House of the Lord.
O Lord grant access!  O Lord grant success!!

Born of the Holy Spirit

"Do not be amazed that I told you, ‘You must be born from above.’
The wind blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3: 7 - 8)

Lord, I yearn for the fullness of your Holy Spirit.  I want to feel His powerful impact in my life.

The Holy Spirit and fruitfulness

"And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God."  (Luke 1:35)

Lord Jesus Christ, set me on fire with the Holy Spirit so that the anointed ministry that will be born in me will glorify the Father.

Courage to witness

Acts 4:19-20

19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, 20 for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”

1691 "Christian, recognize your dignity and, now that you share in God's own nature, do not return to your former base condition by sinning. Remember who is your head and of whose body you are a member. Never forget that you have been rescued from the power of darkness and brought into the light of the Kingdom of God." JESUS! JESUS!! JESUS!!!

Acts 4:12

12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

JESUS!  JESUS!!  JESUS!!!
