"But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth." (1 Timothy 3: 15).
St Paul is here coaching Timothy, the young Bishop he ordained.
How should Timothy behave in the Household of God?
The Household of God is the Church of the living God. Further, he calls the Church "the pillar and foundation of truth."
We all are members of the Household of God. We are all living stones in this building which is the pillar and foundation of truth. How should we behave in the Church? This same Church is "built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone." (Ephesians 2: 20).
"I will praise the Lord with all my heart in the assembled congregation of the upright. Great are the works of the Lord,
studied by all who delight in them." Psalm 111: 1 - 2)
