THE POWER OF THE NAME OF JESUS. 

THE GOSPEL:

"John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us.”

"Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us.” (Mark 9: 38 - 40).

Wednesday February 26th in the 7th Week in Ordinary. 

In the Gospel of today from Mark 9: 38 - 40, we are served with a glimpse of the power of the mighty Name of Jesus. 

1. "John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us.”

2. "There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me." 

Do you know the power of the Name of Jesus? If you do not know, you may be missing one of the most powerful revelations in the Scriptures. This revelation is for our good and protection.

"The name Jesus is Hebrew and means "God saves" 

The name signifies that God's name is present in Jesus 

The name was given to Jesus by God to show that he would save people from their sins 

Significance of the name Jesus Christ

The name Jesus Christ contains God and man, and the economy of creation and salvation 

The name Jesus Christ is the only name that contains the presence it signifies 

The name Jesus Christ is the name that contains everything 

The name Jesus Christ is the name that is above every other name 

The name Jesus Christ is the name that is intimately bound up with salvation." (CCC).

FEBRUARY IS THE MONTH CONSECRATED TO THE HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH. 

"May Nazareth teach us what family life is, its communion of love, its austere and simple beauty, and its sacred and inviolable character. Let us learn from Nazareth that the formation received at home is gentle and irreplaceable. Let us learn the prime importance of the role of the family in the social order." (Pope St Paul VI).
