for he was a good man, filled with the holy Spirit and faith. And a large number of people was added to the Lord." (Acts 11: 23 - 24)
Encourage the brethren to remain faithful to Jesus.
Romans 8:38-39
"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"The life of faith is nothing less than the continued pursuit of God through all that disguises, disfigures, destroys and, so to say, annihilates Him." (John Pierre de Caussade, SJ)
This is the morning on which the Lord appeared to men who had begun to lose hope and opened their eyes to what Scripture foretold: that first Jesus must die, and then He would rise and ascend into His Father's glorious presence.
May the Risen Lord open our eyes to recognize Him in the Scriptures and in the Breaking of Bread.
1 Corinthians 11:23-24
"For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Psalm 116:12
"What shall I render to the Lord
for all his benefits to me?"

Hosea 6:6
"For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice,
the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings."
Abba Father, grant us the grace to know the Heart of Jesus intimately, to love Him passionately and to follow Him everywhere.

1 Peter 1:14-16
"As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord our God!
Holiness consists in obeying the will of God moment by moment.
Moment by moment obedience means:
1. Do what must be done here and now.
2. Accept with Serenity what cannot be avoided.
"Do not conform to the passions of your former ignorance." It means - do not conform to the evil desires that ruled your heart when you did not know the will of God.
What are the desires of your heart?
Desire makes a man.
If you desire holiness and aim for holiness this Lent, God will give you the desires of your heart.

Great Intercessor, obtain for us the grace to discern our mission in life and the courage to embrace it and persevere in it till death.
Be faithful. Be consistent.
"Go on, and you cannot but go forward; believe it, though you do not see it. Do the duties of your calling, though they are distasteful to you. Educate your children carefully in the good way, though you cannot tell how far God's grace has touched their hearts. Let your light shine before men, and praise God by a consistent life, even though others do not seem to glorify their Father on account of it, or to be benefited by your example." (Blessed John Henry Newman)
Matthew 6:25-26
Do Not Be Anxious
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
“Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21)
"I wish I could persuade everyone to be devoted to this glorious saint, for I know from long experience the benefits he obtains from God. I have never known anyone who was truly devoted to him and performed particular services in his honor, who did not advance greatly in virtue... I only ask, for the love of God, that anyone who doubts what I say make a test of it himself, and he will see, from actual experience, the great benefit it is to commend oneself to this glorious Patriarch, and to have devotion to him." (St Teresa of Avila, LIFE)
Matthew 4:4
“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Man does not live on money alone..
Man does not live on salary alone..
Man does not live on job alone..

"Jesus said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” People were coming and going in great numbers, and they had no opportunity even to eat." (Mark 6: 31)
Sunday is God's great gift to humanity. Let us thank God for the gift of Sunday. As we enjoy the blessed rest of Sunday every week, we prepare to transition from Sunday rest to eternal rest. As we worship God on Sunday, our faith in heaven grows. As our faith in heaven grows so does our desire to please in everything.
An interesting thought!
Abortion is the coverup for fornication, adultery and promiscuity within marriage. Deal with the sin and there will be no need for a coverup.
David to coverup his adultery with Bethsheba had to kill her husband, Uriah.
No sin - No coverup. But where sin has occurred, the Divine Mercy is always available.
John 15:16
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you."

Psalm 56:9-11
"Then my enemies will turn back
in the day when I call.
This I know, that God is for me.
In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.

1 Samuel 16:7
"But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
and to listen than the fat of rams."

1 John 4:16
"So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him."
God's perfect love for us drives out all fear.
"None of the thoughts that render us anxious and agitated in spirit in any way comes from God, who is the Prince of Peace. These are the temptations of the enemy and consequently one must reject them and not take them into account." (St Francis de Sales)
